Looking at 2007 Targa 40 stateside

Post by Targa402007 » Sat Nov 30, 2019 4:00 pm

Looking to purchase 2007 Targa 40 currently located NC in states.

Few questions looking for help please.

In the bilge someone has installed electrical wire staples like you
Would use in a house. Theses are the plastic kind with two steel brads on either side that of course has rusted away. Did the factory do this????

A few of the hose clamps on the volvo D6-310 are severly rusted. Is this normal????

Curious question on the garage door at the top it looks like there is two storage areas but when you lift the pad no access???

Cabinet finish is milky on almost all cabinets. Saw this discussed but has anyone found a cost effective solution?

Boat ran good but looks like the water filter caps leaked and saltwater has attacked bits around that area. New caps were installed.

There is a water seperator on exhaust of generator new to me how and why does that function.

Any input would be appreciated.

Hi,

Some answer for you below....

Looking to purchase 2007 Targa 40 currently located NC in states.

In the bilge someone has installed electrical wire staples like you
Would use in a house. Theses are the plastic kind with two steel brads on either side that of course has rusted away. Did the factory do this???? IT'S POSSIBLE THE FACTORY DID IT. IT'S EASILY RECTIFIED THOUGH SO NOT A BIG DEAL.

A few of the hose clamps on the volvo D6-310 are severly rusted. Is this normal???? THEY WERE PROBABLY REPLACED WITH POOR QUALITY ITEMS AT SOME POINT. AGAIN, EASY TO FIX.

Curious question on the garage door at the top it looks like there is two storage areas but when you lift the pad no access???

Cabinet finish is milky on almost all cabinets. Saw this discussed but has anyone found a cost effective solution? THE ONLY AWAY IS TO SAND THE LACQUER BACK AND REFINISH.

Boat ran good but looks like the water filter caps leaked and saltwater has attacked bits around that area. New caps were installed. I'D JUST RUB THE AFFECTED AREAS DOWN AND REPAINT WITH VOLVOL GREEN PAINT.

There is a water seperator on exhaust of generator new to me how and why does that function.

Any input would be appreciated.
