volvo outdrives

I have a 1985 fairline mirage with volvo 270 outdrives, does anyone know which grade of oil the outdrives have.
I have spoken to various people, some say ordinary engine oil 20w/40w others ep 80/90, can anyone help.

Volvo specify ordinary engine oil (15-40, possibly?) But when I had one rebuilt, the engineering company used, and recommended, EP90.

Same oil as used by your engines is what Volvo state. I think EP90 is far too thick.
