Re: Hot water from raw water cooled engine

If anyone has the same question, mine has been converted for hot water. Orbitrade do a conversion kit and if you want photos, let me know. All I will say, the engine take longer to warm up with the extra water and if I was going down this path again i would go for a eberspacher water heater. It take...

Re: FAIRLINE MIRAGE AFT CABIN. ENGINE REPLACEMENT.

I know its an old post, but if anyone has the same problems, its worth downloading the orbitrade brochure. They seem to manufacture all the older Volvo and yanmar engine parts and they are 1/4 of the price of Volvo. For example, I needed a new lift pump for my md17d, Volvo do an alternative to the o...

Fairline Mirage Aft Cabin 1984 Twin Diesels on shafts

My mirage is up for sale, she is the rare twin diesels model with her original Volvo penta's which are in excellent clean condition with 2700 hours (less than 100hrs per year, no smoke and starts on the button). Calorifier hot water, diesel heating. Always maintained and has a full BSS (much new). S...

Re: Fairline 29 Mirage; leaking windows

Old post, but just in case someone comes back. the frames are welded, so its not easy. I didn't take mine out, they are just filled with sealant and scrapped off to look nice. I scraped out about 5mm all the way around inside and out, refilled with sealant and smoothed off. If you are getting leaks,...

Re: twin engined mirage aft cabin stern glands

Job done, the switch panel I swung to one side (covered the back so not to short anything, I didn't disconnect the batteries for the bilge pump, but only a little amount of water came which was disappointing with after all the prep work I did expecting a gush) , calorifier had to be disconnected fro...

twin engined mirage aft cabin stern glands

My boat is a rare old mirage aft cabin. Ex showboat from Europe, she has twin diesels which and I've not seen another, so its a bit of a long shot, my stern gland is leaking, I'm going to repack it, but does anyone know an easier way to get to it other than removing the master switch control panel a...

Re: Mirage 29

I dont know anyone in your area, if you have the old one to use as a template, just google and shop about, just mark up any shrinking of the canvas.
If you have nothing, its worth googling in the broads area, you might find someone there who will have a template on the shelf. Sorry not much help.

Re: Replacement Port and starboard windows

It took me weeks to track down the manufacturer who did the windows in the 80s, I needed a section of frame as the old owner removed the window and lost the bit he cut out. It was standing for a longtime unused due to ill health and I bought it. They are welded together, so don't get the local "boat...
