32 sedan galley windows leak

My 32 sedan galley windows leak, but not where you would expect. Instead of leaking where they meet the hull, the water works it way through the aluminium frame. Very slow seepage, but a pain. I ran a gutter along the bottom of the frame and collect the water in the bilge. Anyone else have this prob...

There is an O-ring in the rams that fails. Have same problem and plan to change the o-rings within the month. (still winter where I am) Got this information from a experienced Volvo technician. I did have my pump bench tested before looking at the ram and the pump is fine.

Hi
Most of the time they are stamped on the outside of the transom, stern side, just below the rub rail.

Your out-drive will have a model number associated with it. Once you find that out, you can go ask a dealer or go online and find out what the range of prop sizes that out-drive will perform with. In your case I am guessing the lowest recommended pitch would be the best. There is no way the higher p...

Hello. You sound like a very interesting fellow. I would love to see a picture of the mirage with a forward sail if you ever do that. But, back to your original question of planning with 165 hp. I don't see how that would be possible. If I were you I would not pitch it too high. If you are not going...

Hi,
A number of boats at our marina have two aerials, both connected to the VHF. The two aerials separated by the beam of the boat get increased receiving range. Like a yagi antenna. It won't help output.

Hi,
Thanks for the info. I have a question. Is your 32 a Mark l or Mark ll? The Mark ll has the elongated fly bridge. There were some differences in the two models. Mine is a Mark l built in 78. That model ran to about 1984.

Hi
This problem was discussed a few weeks ago on theis forum. If you count down 16 articles from the top to "Volvo penta TAM61 Diesel engines", you can look at what they discussed.

As per the discussion, black smoke is OK, white smoke is bad.

A couple of things. The 350 cu, in. Volvo of that period should be a AQ271 series. If that is the case, I am fairly sure that the out drives should be 290's for that engine and not 280's. Are you sure the out drives are 280's? If someone has mated the wrong out drives, that will be a problem. Also, ...

Black smoke or the dreaded white smoke. White smoke is not good. White smoke means moisture is getting in to your fuel system or engine.

Hi, When you took the boat out for its sea trial were the fuel tanks close to empty. Was your water reservoir, empty, etc. That weight makes a big difference. That could drop you from 28 to 21 kts. Also, with out-drives, trim tabs become less important than Tilt/trim on you engines. I only use my tr...

Are these single props or dual props? There should also be a number on your engine cowling like AQ270. Once you find out that number, any volvo dealer should be able to help you..
