As I thought, since the original post, a 6 Watt LED became available in a different design, which fits some of the larger light fittings in the saloon in my Targa 34. These are available on eBay for around £1 each. The only thing necessary is to snip a few mm off the wires on the bulb to match that ...

When my battery crossover switch failed, it turned out that the replacement was available at a Motor Parts shop, and was just a simple car starter ...

Spoke with GE, who put me onto a UK wholsaler, who put me onto a UK distributor, who sold me the units at about ?17 each, and got them in next day.
